MT WARRIGAL'S Richard and Gaye Brett made it a threesome when they celebrated their recent 35th anniversary.
"We couldn't exclude our '57 Chevy because she has been with us from day one," said Gaye.Richard bought the car only hours before he took Gaye out on their first date in 1969 and they have all been together ever since."That car has been there through all our major events, it was our wedding car and it carried our two children home from hospital," Gaye said.The couple were married in Sydney on May 8, 1970."Since then the car has had more work done on it than me," Gaye laughed.The car, nicknamed Black Beauty, has been fully restored over the years and has won a swag of awards.In 1980 it gained a mate when Richard bought a second Chevy and started a small car hire business, 57 Chevy Magic Wedding Car Hire."We did it partly to cover insurance and other costs, but also because Richard just loves the cars and wants to share the experience of riding in one with other people," Gaye said.
